Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you, in the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. God’s Own Evangelistic Discipleship Ministry (GOEDM), also known as Way Maker Missions, is an indigenous mission agency based in Taraba state, North-Eastern Nigeria, with a vision to resolutely reach the unreached people groups of the world with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ by God’s grace. The vision which was given in 2001 to the International Mission Director, late Pst Joshua Okpanachi Adah (martyred), eventually found expression and led to the establishment and official inauguration of the ministry on the 16th of April, 2006. This organisation is duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and presently has her branch in Ankpa Local Government area of Kogi State.

FOCUS PEOPLE GROUP

The Kona people, among whom the ministry is based, are predominantly farmers and dwell in hamlets scattered and spaced from each other. Though these people are not very far from the capital city Jalingo, their level of exposure is a far cry. They are known for their dogged resolve to resist any kind of influence, especially in the area of belief. Their hold on African traditional religion (ATR), makes them almost impenetrable. The Kona people are not only poor; they are also without Christ. This, late Pst Joshua O. Adah, call ‘double tragedy’. The people were neither reached with the gospel, nor churched. But in the past fifteen years, God has been using this ministry to holistically reach these people through rural missions. We have engaged in evangelism, outreaches, church planting, discipleship, medical missions, education (adult and children), vocational trainings, provision of basic amenities etc., in order to reach out to these rural community dwellers. To the glory of God, all these efforts are yielding results. We have been able to plant Six churches and four discipleship centres among the Kona and Mumuye people groups, who are also surrounded by some Fulanis.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 3:16-17 ESV

OUTREACHES

our outreaches

The ministry holds four major outreaches every year which are mostly geared towards church planting. These outreaches are tagged as follows:

Firstborn Sons:

First Born Son (FBS) is an annual outreach that holds 2nd of January, every year, at Ankpa, Kogi state. It is a vision given by God to address the negative experiences of first born child in families. The testimonies have continued to be extraordinary by the grace of God.

Week of Missions

This is an outreach geared towards sensitizing the Body of Christ about their place in the remaining task of the Great Commission. Participants in this conference have been believers from all walks of life. One of our targets at the end of this program is to make more mission minds.

Operation Caleb:

Week of Missions is succeeded by a two-day practical outreach to an unreached community where a church is planted for natives who would respond to Jesus’ call. Participants in the Week of Missions automatically participate in Operation Caleb.

Jesus Love @ Christmas:

This the last outreach of the year which involves visitation to the orphanage, prison inmates, hospital patients and rural community dwellers. This outreach is slated for 24th & 25th of December every year. The focus is to share the love of Jesus with the poor and forsaken people through gift items including distribution of Bibles.
